Background
Uganda 's information, communication and indeed the Education system in most developing countries is one that emphasizes the acquisition of knowledge and not skills (Theory).
Most of the training is not related to the availability of human and non human resources in the country. As such, (the education and communication system) produces people who know too many things most of which are not useful in their own lives and indeed for National development.
Uganda displays a ratio of 2:128 representing computer Technicians (those who are able to do). This is one of the lowest ratios in the world and indeed in Africa compared to say 1:69 for Kenya and 1:21 for SouthAfrica. This has become to the fact that Uganda's information Technology system has not been developed for the last twenty (20) years. Therefore today's Uganda 's development requires Technicians in all fields of both human and non human resources to be tapped and developed to satisfy the needs of the fast growing Population.
So it is against such a background that Link-technologies was formed to assist in developing the Information technology (IT) industry in Uganda since it has become a common phenomenon in the work environment.
